FSC Policy Statement
Matson Lumber, located in Brookville, Pennsylvania, strides to produce/manufacture hardwoods harvested from our local company owned timberlands, as well as purchased materials within a small geographical radius. Matson Lumber has incorporated strict best practices management throughout its history and have now included those qualities provided in FSC-STD-40-004, whereas Matson Lumber shall:
- Train employees and maintain training records for people who could have an effect on our FSC system, from sourcing to invoicing
- Control the sourcing of FCS-certified materials
- Comply with FSC-STD-40-201
Matson Lumber will not willingly solicit/manufacture/sell:
- Illegally harvested wood
- Wood harvested in violation of traditional or civil rights
- Wood harvested in forests where high conservation values are threatened by management activities
- Wood harvested in forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use
- Wood from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted
